The Great Central Railways winter gala was a great success. I only managed to get there for the last day. Having decided to go and see 'Scots Guardsman' on the saturday which turned out to be a no go, well it did make it as far as Preston.

This is the second time that I have visited the East Lancs, and the same as the last time it poured down. So I just made the most of a miserable day.

With the weather turned dull decided to catch up on some scanning. So here's a few shots taken over the 1940's weekend in July on the SVR.

With the first snow fall of the Christmas period on the night before Christmas Eve it was a must to get out and get some shots. Shame about the mist and fog.

The second trip this week for 34067 on the Cathedrals Express, this time from Waterloo to Yeovil Jct and return. Again I took a trip down to Worting Jct and then drove across to Yeovil Jct, this time the weather was kinder.

I took a trip down to Worting Jct & Battledown Flyover a spot I have wanted to visit having seen many photographs in books & magazines taken there. I was disappointed to find what looked like a large grey power box and security fence to have been put right by the flyover. The weather wasn't kind either dull & grey.
This trip was routed to Salisbury from Waterloo via Reading & returned via Westbury & Swindon to Victoria.

First weekend of Santa Special workings stopped off at Bewdley on the way home from Standish Junction, grabbed a few shots before the rain started.
Great weather on the sunday until mid afternoon when the clouds & rain arrived. Walking back to the car with Matt Fielding in the pouring rain, we had a lucky break in the clouds just as 5164 left Bewdley. A grabbed shot was had with just enough sun to give a nice orange glint.

A trip down to Standish Junction to see 'A4' No 60019 Bittern on The Cathedrals Express Paddington-Cardiff and return.

A luncheon train organised by the 6024 Society for its members.

Having recently added to my vintage camera collection a Rolleiflex 2.8F a 1960-69 model. I loaded a roll of Ektachrome E100vs in to it and have uploaded some of the test shots, (these being the first I've taken with it)

An excersion by the Stephenson Locomotive Society was run today to celebrate it's centenary. It ran from Tyseley's Warwick Rd platform to Ironbridge and then on to Kidderminster via Bescott. Loco's used on the mainline were two GWR 0-6-0PT's No's 9600 & 9466. Once on the SVR the run to Bridgnorth and back was in the hands of No's 5764 & 4566.

Went down on thw Sunday for the last day an enjoyable day apart from the weather can't really moan it is October now! I spent the afternoon practicing my panning shots again had a few disasters and some success

Having to work in the morning decided to nip across to Crewe station to see 6233 arrive back with the up Welsh Dragon

Day three started out ok weather wise but clouded over by mid morning. I met Fred Kerr at Northwood Lane in the afternoon had a good chat with him and gave me some good advice in the art of panning. With this newly gained knowledge went off to Eardington bank to have a go, a few disasters but eventually got it I think.

First day of this years Gala, great weather once the early morning cloud disappeared. Great to see the'Flying Pig' back running after some 20 years away, good job done by the restoration team.

A small selection of colour transparencies taken with my Agfa Super Solina and Kodachrome 64. With Kodak announcing the demise of this great film,I deceided to load up some of my vintage cameras with this legendary film. Although not the same Kodachrome as once used in the halceyon days of steam colour photography.

Another selection of photos taken on the SVR with my Kodak. This little camera bought off Ebay is proving to be a bargain, a great little camera for a bit of fun no modern help with focusing or exposure. My scanning of the transparencies don't really do justice to the original.
